THE DAMASCENE ROSE OIL

The queen of essential oils - sooo precious

The precious oil of Rosa damascena has been revered and used for medicinal purposes since ancient times – no wonder, when you know what this miracle plant can do.
Of all the rose species, Rosa damascena was particularly popular due to its effective properties.
For example, the effects of the rose were valued in folk medicine in Mesopotamia, by the Persians, Assyrians, Chinese, Indians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and Europeans, but it was also used in many other parts of the world for a variety of applications as a long-standing tradition in medicine.
Rose oil, for example, was an integral part of Cleopatra’s beauty routine.
Traditionally, this precious commodity was used for a variety of skin diseases, wound healing, burns, women’s ailments, depression and exhaustion… But did you know what makes this oil so valuable and a true rarity?

🩵 It takes 3 tons of rose petals for 1 liter of rose oil… …. which can still be traditionally harvested by hand – in a very short harvest period of two to three weeks. It is not for nothing that these circumstances make rose oil one of the most valuable and also most expensive essential oils. Traditionally, cultivation areas have been established in Bulgaria, Turkey and Morocco, where it is only produced in small quantities and with great effort, ultimately by steam distillation. The oil consists of a variety of essential oils, such as citronellol, citronellal and gerianol, neral, ß caryophyllene, farnesol, germacrene d and other substances. However, their special combination and mode of action cannot be synthetically produced or imitated to this day. “Fragrances are the feelings of flowers”, as Heinrich Heine once said. For our Prosalban Repair Balsam Luxury, we use genuine, high-quality rose oil from the Bulgarian “Valley of Roses”. This precious oil not only gives our balm its wonderful and lovely fragrance, it is also known for its special effect.

🩵 Positive effects on body & mind

Rose oil can truly be described as a gift from nature.
Symbolically, it stands for love and beauty.
Not only its fantastic and beguiling fragrance is a positive characteristic of the essential oil.
There are now also numerous clinical studies that prove its positive physical and psychological effects on people.
In the modern world, Rosa damascena is still used for bacterial skin diseases (immune-strengthening effect), as well as for burns and wound healing due to its antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.
But it is also used successfully in aromatherapy, for example for dementia, depression, headaches and female disorders such as PMS or menstrual cramps.
The precious rose oil can even have a positive effect on the intestines and the heart.
A tincture of rose oil can also be used to gargle for inflammation in the mouth.  🩵 With the knowledge of tradition & modern healing applications  Our universal genius, the Prosalban Repair Balsam Luxury based on a traditional recipe contains this precious oil and other intensively nourishing substances, such as vitamin E, from whose effects your skin will particularly benefit.
